This is an excellent rideable vintage collectible mountin bike. Everything still works great! Was protected over the years from layers of cobwebs (it likely had not been ridden for almost 20 years). XT and XTR drivetrain still shifts great. Brakes stop on a dime. Rockshox SID fork still works well and holds air (one dust cap is missing on the riders right as shown in the photo). Fox rear shock still works great as well and holds air. Original Ritchey seatpost is full length and uncut with is seldom seen on these bikes. Wheels are specialized hubs with Mavic 222 rims that roll smooth and are adorned in nearly full-tread WTB Velociraptor tires. Roughly 3.15″ travel up front and 3″ rear wheel travel. This is a mountain bike from the revolution era of the sport. From 95 to the early 2000’s, manufacturers were trying to top each other with the best, most useable, and lightweight bikes they could make. The original price for this bike was OVER $2000! In today’s era, it would be roughly a $4-5000 bike! This model is a 1999 / 2000 and was kept out of the weather covered for almost 20 years! Most bikes from this time are worn and not very useable for their intended purpose. Not this one! Hang it on the wall, or take it to the trails. This steed is right at home with either scenario.
