Purchased new in 2001. I am the original owner and have meticulously maintained this bike! Shortly after purchase, it was sent back to the bike shop and upgraded to Shimano XT. There is some scuffing next to the chain rings on the chainstay (see photo). I also noticed a couple of pin sized chips on the top tube which can be seen very close up. Recently, the bottom bracket cartridge was replaced and crankset updated by the local bike shop. The tires are Continental Tour Ride 1.75 x 26, which are good for fast rides on roads and hard pack trails. The suspension is silky smooth. The rear air shock was rebuilt 5 years ago and has not needed to be pumped up since then. However, I will throw in the high pressure pump so that you can adjust the pressure for your weight. This is one of my favorite bikes in my rather large collection. Unfortunately, due to health problems, I am now on a recumbent. The size is large. I am 5’ 8” tall and the frame size is perfect for me. There is plenty of stand over clearance with lots of saddle adjustment for shorter and taller riders. I would estimate a good fit for riders from 5’6” to 6’. I am offering this for local pick-up to save shipping charges. You may also select shipment via UPS.
