2019 Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy 27.5 Pictures are of actual bike for sale. For more then 25 years, the Specialized Stumpjumper has been the go to bike in Specialized lineup. THE trail bike. The very definition of the mountain bike. And Specialized, while improving the breed, has given birth to some off shoots of the original Stumpjumper ideal such as this 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy 27.5. These bikes were produced for those niche riders that wanted to turn up the volume. This is a bike designed to spend as much time in the air as it does on the ground. It has a slacked-out front-end and a longer top tube, so the EVO has heavier steering, exceptional front-end traction, and it begs you to hit every lip and rail every turn. And with the flick-ability that 27.5-inch wheels offer this is a great all mountain gravity fed option. The Stumpjumper EVO uses the same style-specific sizing that lets you choose the bike that fits the way you ride and it narrows things down to two sizes, S2 and S3. These are longer, lower, slacker, and have seat tube and head tube heights that allow you to choose the size that best suits your style and terrain. This particular bike is the S2 geometry with a 63.5 heat tube angle. More geometry info is listed below but this “one size fits all” geometry is pretty all encompasing and will fit riders from 5′ 5″ to 5′ 11″ due to it’s slack angles. The heart of this amazing 27.5lb bike is something that Specialized has always represented… technology. The M5 alloy frame is the same design as the carbon version only the stiff aluminum construction makes for a bike that is very resistant to bending forces allowing all 150mm of rear suspension to stay on it’s intended path. The suspension is simply a work of art with 8 sealed bearing pivots including Specialized exclusive Horst Link suspension link located to reduce pedal induced suspension bob. It’s really the ultimate evolution of the original go anywhere Stumpjumper ideal. This bikes one and only owner is a bike shop employee who after buying this bike started to throw some very nice upgrades at the bike. Gone is the lower end SRAM NX components and in their place is 1×12 10-50t SRAM XO1 Eagle derailleur and shifter. Likewise the NX crankset was ditched in favor of 170mm SRAM carbon XX1’s with a 32t chainring. The standard in-house Specialized Roval wheels were upgraded to RaceFACE ARC 35’s tubeless wheels wrapped in Maxxis Minnion front and Butcher Grid rear rubber. Brakes are SRAM Code R and the bike has an X-Fusion Manic dripper post topped by a Specialized Phenom saddle. Specialized bar and stem combo round out the control room. So what is it like to ride? “Confident inspiring” is a common comment you’ll hear from their owners. This bike is so stable it will make you a faster rider. The 150mm rear suspensions travel is perfectly matched to the 150mm front thanks to the FOX DPX2 rear, FOX Rhythm 36 front shocks. Cosmetically the bike is just beautiful. Very VERY few blemishes on this bike. No dings or dents and I can only note a couple areas of lite trail marks such as on the lower part of the frames down tube and a scuff to the front fork decal. Outside of a quick wipe down, this bike was in this condition when we received it. Just a beautiful specimen of one of the most unique, special order trail bikes on the market. And it is also one of the best looking bikes, especially in person. Specialized historically has peppered their bicycles with the “Specialized” name and logo but on this bike they purposely left it off. I think they wanted to just make a statement of that old adage: “Walk softly and care a big stick”. This bike is just that. A tool to shred. If I can level anything negative about this particular bike is that it is almost TO CLEAN! I’d feel guilty getting it dirty. It is just to nice to get dirty! Geometry Specialized offers these bikes in 2 different frame configurations. S2 and S3. This particular bike is the S2 geometry and will fit riders 5′ 5″ to about 5′ 11″. S3 fits a taller range of riders I believe. This S2 variant has a 61.5cm (24.2 inch) top tube length and a 31″ stand over height and weighs 30.4lbs as pictured. Shipping is $85 to anywhere in the Continental United States.
