The bicycles we sell can be best described as “Project Bikes” that have one or more of the following issues:- carbon frame damage- defective and/or worn-out parts- parts that are missing We don’t perform any maintenance or repair work on the bicycles in our inventory. At a minimum, a bicycle purchased from us will need to be professionally assembled and inspected for safe operation. Most will also need extensive service work. CONDITION Our visual inspection of this bicycle was focused mainly on the structural integrity of the frame, with less effort devoted to inspection of the components (suspension, cockpit, drivetrain, wheels). Damage that exceeds the following common conditions is described further down in this section:- light scratches and small dings- minor damage to finish due to cable, heel, and chain rub- what might be typical for a bike of this type and/or age (e.g. crank arm damage from curb and/or rock strikes, etc.) FrameAluminum damage in the following locations:- drive side of down tube, midpoint (big dent and deep scrapes from trail impact)- drive side of down tube, just in front of bottom bracket (deep scrapes from trail impact)- top and inside of drive side chainstay, just behind bottom bracket (paint loss and heavy scratches from chain slap)- inside of both seatstays, just below brake bridge (paint loss and moderate scratches from tire rub and/or trail debris)- inside face of drive side rear dropout (deep scrape/gouge from chain drops)- inside of rear brake mount post (paint loss and moderate scratches from wheel exchanges)- top and outside of non-drive side seatstay, just in front of dropout (paint loss and moderate to heavy scratches, cause unknown) Other than areas of damage noted above, frame in fair to good condition – additional, less serious, signs of wear and tear throughout the frame. ForkNon-drive side lower has large area of paint loss and wear through the aluminum, possibly from how the bike was transported to and from the trail. Drive side stanchion has damage/scratches. Suspension compression/rebound is smooth, no obvious leaks. Service history of fork is unknown – buyer should assume that service (rebuilding) is likely needed at this time, and in some cases complete replacement might be necessary. Rear ShockShock body has a ding/scrape from impact. Non-drive side of linkage has scrapes from trail impact. Suspension compression/rebound is smooth, no obvious leaks. Service history of shock is unknown – buyer should assume that service (rebuilding) is likely needed at this time, and in some cases complete replacement might be necessary. Cockpit (bar/stem/saddle/seatpost)Grips not included. Handlebar and stem in poor condition. Saddle cover has numerous tears and other signs of wear. Dropper post action is smooth, but returns slow. Service history of dropper post is unknown – buyer should assume that service (rebuilding) is likely needed at this time, and in some cases complete replacement might be necessary. Drivetrain (shifters/brakes/derailleurs/cranks/cassette)Both brake lever reservoir covers have damage from impacts. Rear brake doesn’t work – possibly no brake fluid in the line. Both crank arms have lots of scratches and scrapes from rock strikes, etc. Chainring is worn out. Rear derailleur has lots of scratches and scrapes. Cassette appears to be new or nearly new. WheelsWheels are trashed (rear rim has eleven dents on one side, bearings are stiff/crunchy/shot). Wheels should be considered a total loss. Tires are also trashed – lots and lots of large cuts/cracks in the sidewalls. In the case of bikes with hydraulic brakes, the front and/or rear brake systems might need to be bled. – We have not evaluated the condition and remaining service life of drivetrain wear components (chainrings, cassette, chain, brake pads, disc brake rotors, cables/housing), and some or all might need to be replaced. – We have not checked the alignment of the disc brake rotors, and one or both might need to be trued. – We have not checked the alignment of the wheels, and one or both might need to be trued and/or dished. – We have not evaluated the condition of the tires or tubes, and some or all might need to be replaced. In the case of bikes with tubeless compatible rims, we have not checked to see if tubeless tape and/or tubeless valve stems are installed. —– —– —– —– This bicycle will be professionally disassembled and packed prior to shipping.
