For sale is my beloved 2007 Specialized Epic Marathon FACT 9m Carbon FSR full suspension 26-inch mountain bike. I have owned this bike for more than six years and I love it. Regretfully, injuries and age force its sale. This bike has most certainly evolved over the years and its component list is extensive. I am an enthusiast and not a dealer, but I will do my best to share all important information. The frame is a 2007 Specialized Epic Marathon Carbon Fact 9m Az1. Size is ‘large.’ The fork is an older, but very high line Rock Shox full race SID twin air chamber fork with “Black Box Carbon” crown and “Motion Control” remote lockout. The rear suspension is FSR with Specialized AFR rear shock with “Future Shock Brain” which provides 100mm of travel. The crankset is Specialized Strong Arm with brand new ES-30 Octalink bottom bracket. The drive train is 1×9 with RaceFace narrow-wide 34T front sprocket and Shimano XT rear derailleur. The brake set is Avid Juicy Seven hydraulic disc. The headset is Cane Creek, the bars are Specialized S-Works Carbon, the neck is Truvativ XR 3D forged, and the grips are very fresh Specialized. The seat is a lightweight Bontrager Inform RL with hollow rails and the post is Crank Brothers Cobalt 3. The wheels are Mavic and the tires are Hutchinson Python. Condition: I ride my bikes and enjoy them. I am not a polisher. This bike does have marks and imperfections. I did my best to include images of notable flaws and marks. Please spend time with the images. The forks are older but are a very high line expensive fork that I love. This fork has followed me to three bikes now. The chambers hold pressure and there is no evidence of oil leaking near the seals/sliders. The inner tubes of the fork do have a bit of surface material coming loose at the very top near the crown (see close-up image). The issue is well above the travel range. The issue does not seem to be worsening with age, as the flaw has been the same for at least the past 5 years. The Motion Control cable is sticky as I very rarely use that feature. The rear shock is in excellent condition. The brakes are great, as are the seat, seat post, and grips. The carbon handlebar does have quite a few marks, but it is light, strong, and I love it. The crank arms show cosmetic wear from riding, but the bottom bracket is new and the front chainwheel is nearly new. The Mavic wheels look great and have proven to be a super investment, but it is time to have the rear wheel trued. It rides well, but it is time. Tires, seat and brakes are excellent.
